but not much I can buy. Been 3 days donwn here looking around. seen lots of houses, some good, some not so good. Some are fully removated and going for great prices, some terrible and going for even better prices. Not a lot for what we want it for though, multi occupancy. Duplex or triplex pretty much. The original duplex I came down to look at was cheap, but in terrible condition. Yes we could do the work and have a nice duplex at the end, but oww, so much work!
So I set off looking at all houses I could see. I think I have ssen to many, I seem to be house hunting in my sleep. There is so many very lovely houses down here, some are such landmarks I always like to look at them when I drive past.
After 3 days of real estate agents, I have found another house. It is more expensive, much nicer inside though and less work would be needed for the 3 units as they had already been in there at one time, just needed to reinstate them. It is close to town, only 2 blocks away, and is one of the 'snob' areas of town, lots of grand old homes around that area. Corner block, so we can put a carport in the back yard if we need to
So we need to decided between the bigger house and the smaller house, each with muliti occupancy potential (the reason for even looking) Also need to get in touch with council on the regulations for multi occupany. even though there may have been units in the past the regulations may be very different. I do know we now have to put in fire walls between each dwelling to prevent/stop fire spreading to the rest of the dwellings. Also both are highset and require restumping and slabs underneath. So lots of work all round for everyone. I am hoping to have some very nice units, close to town. Also worst case senario. I guess I could always live in one :P And that house was very nice inside.....
