Fashionista..

Well hardly, lol but I like the idea of refashioning what I own to get some new items in my wardrobe. I finally managed to get some of my sewing room set up so have spun off a few items for practice. First I turned and old pair of jeans that didn't fit me anymore into a new skirt, then used some very pretty hibiscus print to make this little bag. I used some blue gingham for the lining which is cute. Both lots of fabric came from my stash. I totally forgot to add a little pocket to the inside, so I unpicked the lining to add a basic pocket for lipstick etc. I would like to put some sort of decoration on the outside of the bag but not sure what to put on it.

I finished a new type of knitted dishcloth this week. It has taken me a while to finish it (I started it in Emerald before we left) It is in a basket weave pattern which was fun to learn and I did make a few mistakes along the way. I still think it looks good though. I know the photo is a little blurry, it shows the basket weave effect though.

So far this summer we have had a fair amount of rain, certainly more then I am used to living in other areas. The weather has been hot but every few days we get a shower to cool it off again. I am looking forward to getting back to work. Being around the house has seen me spend a lot of time online, which is not always a waste as I am normally looking for new ideas to use around the house.
