Yup right there , the catch to having a blog. Not much good if you don't update it occasionally :P
Anyhoo, I have some photos of the freebie desk I finally finished the top on. This desk goes near the telephone for all sorts of goodies (read junk) and knick knaks.
I am really happy with the way the top turned out. It was all sanded when I painted the bottom bit, but I didn't have any stain or varnish so just used it as it was. Now it is looking very pretty with a walnut top and some very nice glossy shine!
It currently has our printer/fax system on it, and while it all fits, there isn't mush room for anything elselike paper etc. I might have to get another cupboard or something with large drawers for the printer/fax and move it back into the office.
The puppies are all grown up now. Just need to find some nice loving homes for them!

I am working on some larger projects coming up, namely trying to build my own furniture! I am going to try and build an entry system from Knock off Wood . I love some her plans and there are heaps of photos on there of other people that have made furniture from the same plans. The only trouble is that all measurements are in inches! So after trying to convert them all into metric, I find I can't get timber in the same sizes she states for the pattern. Well a fair amount of changing went on then. The furniture will be close but I will have to see how it turns out. Also any changes I make to the metric system I will be sure to write down and keep. (just in case I want to make it again) Wish me luck! I think I am going to need it.
