Well it has started raining in the area. I have checked the rain gauge today and so far over 80mm ( I think that is the measurement). The chickens are all in their coop looking very sad. The silkies are the worst, they look like drowned rats. There has been heavy rainfall predicted in the next couple of days.
There is already a line closed off due to the rain, as there are probably many more washouts now, and would be too risky to drive a train over it, untill it is checked out. There was rainfall 90-170mm along the track, this morning alone. Some people say it will flood again this year, I guess we will have to wait and see. I sent off the transfer paperwork yesterday, so will now have to wait and see what happens with it. Fingers crossed everyone!
My washing machine has decided to stop working again :( This is the third (or fourth) time the thing has broken down in the last 4 months. Really starting to annoy me, and time for a new one I think. At least we have extended warranty, but still a pain as I have no machine for a couple of weeks until they can come out and fix it. Grrrr... The laundromat is terribly expensive too. $4.20 per load, and they don't hold a decent sized load.
Might have to ring around and find a bargain. I know the front loaders are water smart, but I just don't like them personally. I will be getting another top loader for sure. The one we have was pretty good. It was really big and washed the clothes well, but I would have expected it to last longer than 3.5 years, really... Hmm I guess things are really made to break after a couple of years, very sad and hard on the environment.
Sushi tonight for dinner.. yum! Haven't had it for a while so it will be a change. Very easy to make. Rice, seaweed mats, and stuffing for the middle. Always best made fresh. Might have to go up to woolies and get some seafood stuff for a couple of seafood ones though. I cheat with the chicken ones, I buy the marinated chicken kebab sticks from woolies when they are marked down. Cook them up and put the meat in a sushi roll, very easy.
