Yup that is a possibilty. By the end of the cooking spree I ended up with brownie slice, LCM bars, marshmallow bits, mud cake, impossible pie, and mars bar slice, phew! At least most ended up in the freezer for future eating. I was hoping tomorrow to whip up some beef and chicken pies for the frezer also as we ran out a while ago and need to restock. I have all the ingredients, but after last nights shift I was just too tired all day.
Here's some more recipes from online:
LCM's
Makes 30 squares or 16 bars
60g butter
1 bag (400g) marshmallows
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
7 cups Rice Bubbles, or Ricies.
In large saucepan melt butter and marshmallows over a gentle heat, stirring constantly.
When marshmallows have completely dissolved add vanilla and stir in the rice pops.
Work quickly as the mixture becomes sticky.
When combined, turn the mixture into a greased sponge roll tin and press down very firmly using wet hands.
To really compress the mix roll over it with a heavy can or bottle (again, wet the roller before attempting to roll the mixture) press edges in neatly with a knife and leave to cool.
Finish with a scattering of coloured sprinkles, and then roller over them so they are pressed in. When cool, cut into 30 squares or 16 bars
I made my own marshmallow and had heaps left over which I cubed and rolled in coconut.
Impossible Pie (sweet version)
4 eggs
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar (I use less about 1/2 a cup)
1/2 cup P/Flour
1 cup coconut
2 cups milk
2 teasp vanilla
Method: Blend all ingredients together. Pour into a well greased pie plate(large). Bake at 180cfor 1 hour or untill centre is firm. The flour sinks to the bottom and forms the pastry. The egg mixture forms a lovely thick custard The coconut forms a top crust. Great eaten cold.
Now have basil appearing in the garden. The dogs dug in the lettuce area, a few of them dissapeaed under the dirt, I am hoping they make a come back. We had some spare chicken wire, wasn't enough to go around the garden, but we have kind of 'balled' it up and laid it on top of the garden bed to deter the dogs from digging. So far seems to be working. The dog pen has a hole in it which needs repair, Tank always seems to be escaping from it :S really annoying.
Yup I have discovered some seriously broody chickens in our coop. I went in there to find to chickens both squished into the same nesting box, where all the eggs were. One even tried to peck me when I tried to move it, I threw it out of the coop though! nasty chicken. Other then that chickens are doing well and healthy. There seems to be no more mite problem but I will keep up with preventative measures so they won't come back.
We are still cleaning under the house. Paul has started on cleaning his workbench area, so we got some ply and we'll hang it up the back for him to hang tools on. Will hopefully make a difference down there, tool end up everywhere! The camping gear is still sitting in a big pile though and I always seem to be tripping over the stuff. Am ordering the outdoor setting and shelving tomorrow, so it should be cleaned up by weekend, depending on my workings. Might even be able to squeeze in a BBQ for a couple of people if it's here in time. Mmm BBQ.
