I have done some more painting around the veranda, but we have had wet weather this weekend and have been unable to do anymore. Instead I have done some indoor crafts and used my new craft room! yay. So I finished up the curtains in the main bedroom. These curtains I made from fabric from spotlight. It was a sailtop curtain that comes in one long roll and is a full length drop ready to hang. I found a lot of light was coming in around the top though, and next time I cut this fabric again, I will make sure there is an even number of rings at the top. The odd number makes it hang funny on the rod.
I folded over the top where the sail rings were and sewed it down using 2 line of stitching, top and bottom. Sewing it like this I can use it as a rod pocket curtain or use the rings as invisible sail top curtain. I think I like the rod pocket look, but DH like the sail top. Will try both out and see what works the best.
I used some scraps to make some tie backs for the curtains to hold them back while the french doors are open. The fabric is a really pretty purple/pink satin. The other side is a patterned silver, so it is nice to change the color later on if I want to.
Can see my craft room through there! though it is a little messy with the sewing I have been doing. The timber floor is really easy to clean up after working in there. The main bedroom is being air conditioned soon, and once I open these doors and pull the curtains back, it will also keep my craft room nice and cool while I am in there.
