Been getting rain every night since it started. I will have to mow the yard this week, or it will be too long and a lot more work if I leave it. Because of all this rain they have been unable to move the derailment, so still no trains that way. My working was cancelled tomorrow because of it. I will be able to get some housework done however.
Kitchen is in a shambles and definitely need to get some staples. So kitchen and shopping tomorrow I think. If I get time in the arvo I will mow the yard. I am hoping to get something in the garden by then end of this week.
My chickens have mites. Yuck! Apparently the rain can bring them out, and there has been a bit of it happening over town. I did buy some powder to sprinkle everywhere. And when the ground dries up i have a liquid to spray every inch of the chicken area. I will have to do this every couple of weeks to get rid of them though. They are very annoying little critters.
Family swung back past this arvo. Was a nice visit. We invited them back out again next time they go on a holiday. Will go out and do some sightseeing, or a tour.
I was thinking of getting some lapidary equipment and try gem cutting again as a hobby. I wonder if I will have the time though, and the cost of layout and continuation is a bit pricey. Then i have to try and get gemstone rough to cut and practise... decisions. Maybe i should leave it a bit longer and see how I go. Perhaps I will like gardening soon. It is a much cheaper hobby.
I have been reading the book 'The magic of thinking big' by David Schwartz, PhD. I think it is a reasonably old book, but some of the ideas in it were very much an aha! moment. It goes into what we think of ourselves and how this can affect our life, work and play. It has a lot of ideas for being successful. I will keep reading it and hopefully some of the ideas will stick.
