Sun is shining

Well the rain looks like it has left. Had a cancelled working due to the fact the derailed train is still stuck there. Now it has stopped raining, they will be able to get cranes in there to lift it and put it onto a truck, or a good piece of rail.

Made chicken carbonara. yum! Very simple to make, I make it when i am feeling slack. I just throw in the ingredients, or substitute if i don't have them.

Creamy Chicken Carbonara

300g Boneless Chicken,
diced 2 Rashers Bacon, chopped
2 teaspoons oil
1 Can Cream of Chicken Soup
1/4 Cup Cream
400g Fettucine
Chopped Parsley for serving.
1. Gentry fry chicken and bacon in hot oil unitl golden brown. Drain off any excess oil.
2. Add soup and cream, simmer 2-3 minutes.
3. Serve over freshly cooked fettuccine, sprinkled with chopped parsley.
Serves 4.


I am still dusting the chickens, trying to get rid of the silly mites. Have seen hardly any now, so it must be working. Just have to keep at it in case the mites lay eggs. Some of the chickens have gone clucky I think. I've noticed a few of them sitting on the eggs, and I don't think they are laying as many eggs. Looks like one of the silkies has started laying, been getting some cute little eggs lately.

I will have to look at making apricot jam now, i think the bag in the fridge is getting old, hence must be used. The plums I'm afraid didn't make it. I found what was probably a bag of plums in the bottom of the fridge and they are past useby. Such a waste. Also have to find a good marmalade recipie as I have quite a few oranges too.

Have joined flylady in a bid to try and routine my housework. This will be interesting as we don't live to any routine while I'm working this job. It is worth a try though, so will let you know how I go. The first lesson is to shine the sink. I am to do this everytime before I got to bed. This way when I wake up I have a nice clean sink. It is all positive. No negative thoughts allowed. I am not supposed to think about any other cleaning, or feel guilty about it, otherwise I feel overwhelmed and nothing gets done. Hehehe sounds silly I know, but i'm trying it. Never know the house will hopefully be cleaner after all this.

Will have to try and line up mowing the yard. After all that rain it is going to go out of control and I will have trouble mowing it soon. Need to get to it while it is relatively easy to mow. I would like to clean off my BBQ and cook some food on it. Hasn't been used in a fair while and I like BBQ's. Hope everyone had a nice Australia Day. I went to work that night, so didn't go anywhere for any celebrations. Did stop by the pub after work though for a draw thing where i had the chance to win some money, but my name didn't get drawn out. Shame. Oh well just have to go back to work and save my money. Better get moving, I spent too much time on the computer yesterday and didn't get much done around the house. Today I will be pretty busy though, better get to it!
